Description

Amphetamine Test is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay based on the principle of competitive binding. Drugs which may be present in the urine specimen compete against the drug conjugate for binding sites on the antibody.During testing, a urine specimen migrates upward by capillary action. Amphetamine, if present in the urine specimen below 1,000 ng/mL, will not saturate the binding sites of the antibody coated particles in the Test strip. The antibody coated particles will then be captured by immobilized Amphetamine conjugate and a visible colored line will show up in the test line region. The colored line will not form in the test line region if the Amphetamine level exceeds 1,000 ng/mL because it will saturate all the binding sites of anti-Amphetamine antibodies.

The test must remain in the sealed pouch until use.

Do not freeze.

Cares should be taken to protect components in this kit from contamination. Do not use if there is evidence of microbial contamination or precipitation. Biological contamination of dispensing equipments, containers or reagents can lead to false results.

QUALITY CONTROL

Internal procedural controls are included in the test. A colored band appearing in the control region (C) is considered an internal positive procedural control, confirming sufficient specimen volume and correct procedural technique.

External controls are not supplied with this kit. It is recommended that positive and negative controls be tested as a good laboratory practice to confirm the test procedure and to verify proper test performance.

FAQ

Q: What drugs are considered amphetamine?

A: Amphetamines are a class of powerful central nervous system stimulants, including prescription medications like Adderall (amphetamine/dextroamphetamine) and Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine), used for conditions like ADHD, and illicit drugs such as crystal meth (methamphetamine), alongside related compounds like MDMA (ecstasy/molly) and decongestants like pseudoephedrine. They work by increasing dopamine and norepinephrine in the brain, boosting alertness, focus, and energy.

Q: What drug is like amphetamine?

A:Examples of substituted amphetamines are amphetamine (itself), methamphetamine, ephedrine, cathinone, phentermine, mephentermine, tranylcypromine, bupropion, methoxyphenamine, selegiline, amfepramone (diethylpropion), pyrovalerone, MDMA (ecstasy), and DOM (STP).

Q: What drug shows up as amphetamine?

A: OTC medications are well recognized as causing a false-positive amphetamine urine drug screen include nasal decongestants, Vicks inhaler, MDMA, and pseudoephedrine

Q: How long is amphetamine positive in urine?

A: Amphetamine is a drug that stimulates your central nervous system. It can show up in your urine for 1 to 3 days after you've taken it. Amphetamines include methamphetamine (meth), Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), and other designer forms.

Q: How is the precision?

A: Test precision was determined by blind tests with control solutions. Controls with Amphetamine concentrations at 50% of the cut-off yielded negative results, and controls with Amphetamine concentrations at 150% of the cut-off yielded positive results.

Q: What is a red flag in a urine test?

A: Red flags in urinalysis include blood (hematuria), protein (proteinuria), white blood cells (leukocytes), bacteria/yeast, glucose, ketones, bilirubin, casts, and unusual color/odor, often signaling infections (UTIs), kidney disease, diabetes, liver issues, kidney stones, or even cancer, requiring further investigation beyond normal variations from food or medication.

Q: What tablets have amphetamine in them?

A: Amphetamines are a class of powerful central nervous system stimulants, including prescription medications like Adderall (amphetamine/dextroamphetamine) and Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine), used for conditions like ADHD, and illicit drugs such as crystal meth (methamphetamine), alongside related compounds like MDMA (ecstasy/molly) and decongestants like pseudoephedrine. They work by increasing dopamine and norepinephrine in the brain, boosting alertness, focus, and energy
