Description

Psa Rapid Test Kit is used to assist in the diagnosis of early prostate cancer. There are three methods for the PSA Rapid Test: detecting whole blood and serum, plasma samples. By quantifying the PSA concentration in these blood-derived samples, it becomes possible to identify abnormal changes during the early, symptom-free phase of prostate cancer. This capability not only helps screen individuals at potential risk but also allows for timely intervention measures. Additionally, for patients who have already been diagnosed with prostate cancer, regular PSA monitoring can support the assessment of treatment effectiveness and disease progression, thereby facilitating timely modifications to their therapeutic regimens.

STORAGE AND STABILITY

Psa Rapid Test Kit should be stored at 2-30°C until the expiry date printed on the sealed pouch.

The test must remain in the sealed pouch until use. Do not freeze.

Cares should be taken to protect components in this kit from contamination. Do not use if there is evidence of microbial contamination or precipitation. Biological contamination of dispensing equipments, containers or reagents can lead to false results.

PROCEDURE

Allow the test device, urine specimen, and/or controls to equilibrate to room temperature (15‐30℃) prior to testing.

1. Bring the pouch to room temperature before opening it. Remove the test device from the sealed pouch and use it as soon as possible.

2. Place the test device on a clean and level surface. Hold the dropper vertically and transfer 3 full drops of urine (approx. 100 μL) to the specimen well (S) of the test device, and then start the timer. Avoid trapping air bubbles in the specimen well (S).

3. Wait for the red line(C) to appear. The result should be read at 5 minutes. Do not interpret the result after 10 minutes.

FAQ

Q: Who needs a rapid PSA test?

A: Mainly two groups: men aged 50 and above; men under 50 with a family history of prostate cancer or symptoms like frequent urination.

Q: What sample is required for a rapid PSA test, and how long does it take?

A: Samples include whole blood, serum, or plasma (please check the product instruction manual for specific requirements). Most tests deliver results within 15–30 minutes.

Q: Does a high PSA level mean I have prostate cancer?

A: No. A high PSA level can also be caused by benign conditions (e.g., prostatitis) or recent activities (e.g., sexual intercourse). Further medical tests are needed for confirmation.

Q: Is there any preparation needed before a rapid PSA test?

A: Avoid sexual intercourse within 24 hours before the test.
Wait 1–2 weeks after a rectal exam before taking the test.
No fasting is required, but inform the test staff of any medications you are taking.

Q: Do patients diagnosed with prostate cancer need regular rapid PSA tests?

A: Yes. Regular tests (usually every 3–6 months, as recommended by doctors) help assess treatment effectiveness and disease progression.

Q: Can rapid PSA test results be used as a diagnostic basis?

A: No. It is only an auxiliary screening tool. Confirmation of prostate cancer requires pathological biopsies, imaging tests, and a comprehensive judgment by a professional doctor.
