PRINCIPLE

Psa Blood Test For Prostate Cancer Device is a qualitative, membrane based immunoassay for the detection of PSA in whole blood, serum or plasma. The membrane is pre‐coated with PSA antibodies on the test line region. During testing, specimen reacts with the particle coated with anti‐PSA antibody. The mixture migrates upward on the membrane chromatographically by capillary action to react with anti‐PSA antibodies on the membrane and generate a colored line. The presence of this colored line in the test region indicates that presence of PSA in the specimen is more than 4 ng/mL for a positive result, while its absence indicates a negative result or presence of PSA in the specimen below 4 ng/mL. To serve as a procedural control, a colored line will always appear in the control line region (C) indicating that proper volume of specimen has been added and membrane wicking has occurred.

STORAGE AND STABILITY

Psa Rapid Test Kit should be stored at 2-30°C until the expiry date printed on the sealed pouch.

The test must remain in the sealed pouch until use. Do not freeze.

Cares should be taken to protect components in this kit from contamination. Do not use if there is evidence of microbial contamination or precipitation. Biological contamination of dispensing equipments, containers or reagents can lead to false results.

EXPECTED VALUES

The generally accepted minimum indicative level of PSA for Prostate Cancer is 4 ng/mL and the accepted warning level is 10 ng/mL. Local regulations may define different reference levels, please consult with authorities for specifics. The PSA Rapid Test Device(Whole Blood/Serum/Plasma) has been compared with a leading commercial PSA enzyme immunoassay (EIA) test. The correlation between these two systems is 98.6%.

FAQ

Q: What are the 7 warning signs of prostate cancer?

A: Prostate cancer develops when abnormal cells form and grow in the prostate gland. Not all abnormal growths, also called tumors, are cancerous (malignant). Some tumors are not cancerous (benign). Benign growths, such as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), are not life threatening.

Q: How to avoid prostate cancer?

A: Ways to Prevent Prostate Cancer

Not smoking. If you smoke, take the steps to quit.

Maintaining a healthy weight. There is some evidence to suggest that obesity may increase a person's risk for prostate cancer. ...

Eating a well-balanced diet.

Exercising regularly.

Limiting alcohol.

Q: Can you have a high PSA and not have cancer?

A: A core needle biopsy is the main method used to diagnose prostate cancer. It is usually done by a urologist. During the biopsy, the doctor usually looks at the prostate with an imaging test, such as transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) or MRI, or a 'fusion' of the two (all discussed below).

Q: What is the fastest way to lower your PSA?

A: In fact, for individuals with high levels of PSA, only 2% will have a form of prostate cancer requiring medical intervention. Some of the common causes for elevated PSA include age, prostatitis, benign prostatic hyperplasia, and urinary tract infections.

Q: What drinks reduce prostate size?

A: Tomato Juice: High in lycopene, which may help reduce prostate enlargement and improve function. Citrus Juice: Packed with vitamin C and antioxidants that can reduce inflammation and support overall health.

Q: What time of day is PSA lowest?

A: Consider Timing: PSA levels can fluctuate throughout the day, with higher levels typically observed in the morning. Schedule your PSA test for the morning hours to capture the most accurate and consistent results.
